Jeonnam Province, recruiting farmers to participate in low-carbon agriculture program

Jeonnam Province announced that it will recruit agricultural corporations and producer groups that cultivate rice in paddy fields to participate in the "2025 Low-Carbon Agriculture Program" (Autumn Tillage) aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from rice paddies until the 29th of this month. The program involves tilling rice straw or stubble after rice harvest to return it to the soil, thereby reducing methane gas emissions during the following water-rice season. Participating farms can receive up to 460,000 won per hectare in direct payment subsidies. Eligibility for the support includes agricultural corporations or producer groups that cultivate rice on 20 hectares or more of farmland designated for basic public direct payment subsidies this year. Individual farms can directly apply.
