Due to the lack of precipitation, farmers in the Mykolaiv region lost almost their entire corn harvest and half of the sunflower harvest. This was reported by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaly Kim, as reported by Kurkul.com with reference to Hromadske.ua. This year, the sown area in the region was approximately the same as in 2024—about 20 million hectares, to which 270 thousand hectares of demined land were added. As of August 1, farmers had harvested 15.5 million tons of grain. Last year, at this date, the figure was 63.5% higher. In turn, the Ukrainian Association of Agribusiness notes that the critical situation with the shortfall in the harvest is observed only in the south of Ukraine and partially in the east.
