Vilfand warns of sharp cold snap in six Russian districts

Russia is experiencing significant cold weather with temperatures expected to drop by 5-9 degrees below normal in six districts, including the Far East, Volga region, Siberia, Urals, North Caucasus republics, and the European part. The most severe drop is expected in the Irkutsk region and Buryatia, with minus 33-36 and minus 31-34 degrees. The cold is expected to last at least until tomorrow, with the Volgograd and Rostov regions experiencing the coldest conditions, with an average temperature of -20.

In the coming days, temperatures significantly below normal will be observed in six districts of Russia - in the Far East, in the Volga region and Siberia, in the Urals, in the republics of the North Caucasus, as well as in the European part of Russia (center and south). This forecast was voiced by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand, TASS reports. On average, according to him, the thermometer column in these territories during the current week will be 5-9 degrees lower than usual. The meteorologist also assessed the situation in individual regions. The most serious drop in temperature is expected in the Irkutsk region and Buryatia - minus 33-36 and minus 31-34 degrees, and the lag from the norm will be 6-8 degrees.
