The Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Rural Community Corporation (Head Kim Jae-sik) conducted drainage pump operation training for 166 drainage pumps in the region on the 27th in order to prevent damages caused by the summer monsoon and heavy rains. This training was organized to check the rapid situation reporting system in case of a disaster and to strengthen on-site response capabilities. The training began with a disaster situation message sent by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, assuming agricultural land flooding due to heavy summer rains. The Jeonnam Regional Headquarters activated the emergency contact network and dispatched drainage operation managers to the site to check the normal operation of drainage pumps and gates. Additionally, the coordination system with local governments and related agencies was confirmed to re-examine the cooperative system to ensure an organic response in case of a disaster.
