Piglet prices have fallen again, marking four months of decline and reaching their lowest level since mid-August 2022. The sluggishness in the release of fattening cattle leaves the demand for piglets at a minimum and their quotations fall another week. Currently, the national supply would be sufficient to cover the orders of fatteners, but the arrival of imported animals, which are looking for buyers that they cannot find in northern Europe, forces them to constantly reduce their price. As the fluidity in the movement of live animals slows down, the quotations for both national and imported piglets continue to fall. This week, both record a drop of 3 euros in the Binéfar Market, in line with the trend observed in the main European reference markets.
