Heavy rains cut off vegetable supply in Kathmandu Valley

The largest fruit and vegetable wholesale market in Nepal has seen a significant price increase in local tomatoes, rising by 211.26%, and small tomatoes grown in tunnel trellises by 186.72%. Leafy vegetables have also seen a price hike of 43% in two days, with the retail price of most vegetables nearly doubling. This is due to the expected slowdown in supply in the next few days.
