Georgia reduced the export and import of tomatoes in the first half of 2026.

As of January–June 2026, Georgia exported 1,292 tons of tomatoes for a total of $1.9 million. Despite a slight reduction in the physical volume of shipments, export revenue continued to grow, reports EastFruit with reference to Business Georgia. According to the State Service of Foreign Trade Statistics, the value of exports increased by 4.5% compared to the same period last year, while the volume of shipments decreased by 3.2%. During the reporting period, Georgian tomatoes were supplied to only three countries. The largest buyer was Armenia, which received 888 tons of products worth $1.4 million. Russia came in second, importing 383 tons of tomatoes worth $432 thousand. Another 20 tons of products worth about $13 thousand were exported to Romania.
