BRIN Develops Climate-Resilient Sorghum, Aims for Wheat Substitution to Bioenergy

Panennews.com — The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is promoting the development of sorghum as one of the strategic commodities to face the impacts of climate change while strengthening national food security. Besides being able to grow in dry and marginal lands, sorghum is considered to have the potential as a source of food, feed, and even raw materials for renewable energy. This commitment was the focus of Webinar Teras-TP#1 titled "Integration of Sorghum and Other Cereals Breeding and Cultivation Technology for the Development of Superior Varieties Adaptive to Climate Change" organized by the Food Crops Research Center, the Agricultural and Food Research Organization (ORPP) BRIN.
