Beer production in the EU: At 34.4 billion liters in 2025 – Germany at the top

In 2025, EU countries produced 34.4 billion liters of beer. This represents a slight decrease of 0.7% compared to 2024, but an increase of 2.2% compared to 2020. The largest portion of the beer produced, 32.3 billion liters, contained more than 0.5% alcohol, while low-alcohol beer (under 0.5%) and non-alcoholic beer accounted for 2.1 billion liters. Germany was the leading beer producer in the EU in 2025, brewing 7.4 billion liters of beer (21.6% of the EU's total beer production). Spain took second place (5.3 billion liters; 15.5%), followed by Poland (3.5 billion liters; 10.2%).
