After a fire on December 31, 2019, destroyed the Cabaña Argentina refrigeration plant in General Las Heras, Buenos Aires province, the company has reopened a state-of-the-art plant with an investment of 35 million dollars designed from the outset for export, featuring cutting-edge technology. The new pig slaughterhouse, Carnes Porcinas Seleccionadas (CPS), occupies 18,000 m² of covered space within a 38-hectare plot and includes 3,600 m² of pens. It is prepared to process 40,000 pigs per month in an 8-hour shift, and this capacity can be doubled without the need to expand infrastructure. The slaughter process is automated and includes an automatic stunning system that meets international animal welfare standards by minimizing stress during slaughter.
