USDA Welcomes Eight New Foreign Service Officers to Serve American Agriculture Overseas

The USDA swore in eight new Foreign Service employees who will serve as agricultural attachés at U.S. embassies worldwide. These diplomats will monitor global agricultural production and trade, identify export opportunities, and support U.S. foreign policy. The new attachés will be stationed in locations including Brussels, Bogotá, Pretoria, Mexico City, Manila, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, and Tokyo.

Eight new USDA Foreign Service employees were sworn in, beginning their careers as agricultural attachés in various global locations. These attachés, selected through a rigorous process, will represent American agriculture at U.S. embassies and missions across five continents. Their responsibilities include monitoring international agricultural production and trade, identifying export opportunities for U.S. industries, and supporting U.S. foreign policy goals. The new attachés will be stationed in the European Union, Colombia, South Africa, Mexico, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Japan.
