Rapeseed cultivation is increasingly causing headaches for more and more farmers in Germany. When the pods are fully developed towards the end of May, the damages caused by the cabbage stem flea beetle and the rapeseed pod midge become clearly visible. In this context, agrarheute.com conducted a non-representative survey between June 3 and June 11. The question was whether the farms plan to continue growing rapeseed in the future. A total of 598 people filled out the questionnaire. The results surprised many. 20 percent of the responses came from Northern Germany. 22 percent of the respondents represented Western Germany. The largest number of respondents, 37 percent, came from the most important agricultural region, Southern Germany, while Eastern Germany accounted for 16 percent.
