Proposal for urgent amendment to the decree on tuna fishing

Tuna exports in the first six months of 2025 show sluggish growth, making it difficult to achieve the target. Enterprises face significant challenges from the U.S. and EU markets and domestic policies.

According to data from the Vietnam Association of Seafood Processors and Exporters (VASEP), the total tuna export turnover in the first half of 2025 reached nearly 473 million USD, a slight increase of 0.2% compared to the same period last year. Although the first half of the year was relatively stable, tuna exports in June 2025 saw a significant decline. This information indicates that the industry will face many difficulties in the second half of 2025, making it challenging for tuna exports to meet the targets set for 2024.
