Kherson Farmers Lost 1 Billion Hryvnias, but Harvested 500 Tons of Watermelons

Watermelons from Kherson have already appeared in Ukraine, with 500 tons harvested, but local agricultural producers have lost 1 billion hryvnias.

Kherson agricultural producers have harvested the first 500 tons of watermelons, as well as over 46,000 tons of grains, almost 5,000 tons of rapeseed, and about 2,000 tons of vegetables. This was reported by the Kherson Regional State Administration. In the Kherson region, crops on over 50,000 hectares have been lost or damaged due to frost and drought, with losses exceeding 1 billion hryvnias. Over 46,000 tons of grain and leguminous crops have already been harvested, almost 5,000 tons of rapeseed, and about 2,000 tons of vegetables have been collected. "Currently, the harvest is actively underway in the region: over 46,000 tons of grain and leguminous crops have been threshed, almost 5,000 tons of rapeseed have been harvested, and about 2,000 tons of vegetables and the first 500 tons of watermelons have been collected," the Regional State Administration reports. They noted that for the 2025 harvest, Kherson agricultural producers have sown almost 220,000 hectares of land. ...
