The FAO forecast for feed grain production in 2026/27 indicates a decrease of 1.2 percent (20.3 million tons) compared to the record level of 2025/26 to 1,619 million tons, although this remains the second-largest production volume in the entire history of observations. The main part of the reduction is due to a 1.0 percent decrease in global corn production, reflecting a reduction in planted areas and a return to more average yields in major producing countries, especially in North America. Meanwhile, production forecasts in South America indicate high results, particularly in Argentina, where the corn harvest is likely to recover sharply and reach a record level.
