Apple trees of the varieties Idared and Golden Delicious have been removed from the Plant Varieties Register due to non-payment of fees for their maintenance.

Many varieties of fruit and nut crops, including the Jubilee Kopanya currant, Conference pear, and the apple varieties Idared, Golden Delicious, and many others, have disappeared from the Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine due to the lack of payment of the maintenance fee.

Recently, at a meeting of the working group on plant breeding and plant variety rights protection, the leadership of the Ukrainian Institute of Plant Variety Examination and Registration informed the participants that over 6,000 plant varieties had been excluded from the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine due to the lack of payment of the maintenance fee.
